  • Earlier in the week, it was revealed that USC was the overwhelming pick to win the Pac-12 title in 2012. What Kevin Gemmell mentioned was that the media has correctly picked the winner 11 out of the last 12 years. It's hard to find much fault in the pick with a world class offensive unit coming back. It will be interesting to see how the USC depth will be tested before seeing Oregon comes to town. If both teams come in healthy, and Oregon has enough time to come together offensively, we could be looking at a Top-5 matchup and a game for the ages.
  • It's obvious by now that we are going to be looking at offensive fireworks next year due to the increase in coaching talent in the Pac-12. Of course, there will be people out there that bag on the conference defenses but I think this is just another move in the long line of branding genius that is the Pac-12 brass. While it has always been an offense-oriented league, that fact will become closely coupled with "innovation" in 2012, providing a stark contrast to the conferences that think the only way to score is through field goals.
  • A contributor to Yahoo writes about the Top 25 Oregon Duck Football players of all time. See any omissions? Throw them in the comments below.
  • ESPN has a fun feature about how the linebacking corps will be the key to Oregon's defense. For as long as I can remember, linebacker play has been the key to how well the Ducks could stop opposing teams and 2012 should be no different.
And finally, what Friday would be complete without the video of the week. Last time, we gave you some great tips on possible tailgating food. Well, there is another key component to any good tailgate and that involves making a beer run!
