Quack Fix: Happy Independence Day

Today is our Independence Day, and as we celebrate by our indulgence in the most American of activities: grilling oversized chunks of meat, drinking large amounts of alcohol, and blowing up cheap, mass produced Chinese good, please remember to whom we owe this freedom. If not for the courage of our founding fathers to be traitors to their king and risk hanging in a public square to stand up for thier ideals, we aren't where we are today. As the political environment becomes more and more toxic toward the open exchange of ideas, remember the ideals that our great nation was founded on. Now, onto the quack.

  • We had another solid edition of Tuesday Night Talks last night, as Matt and I were joined by Andy Wooldridge of Building the Dam to talk OSU football. You can download that on Talkshoe or by searching for ATQ on iTunes. As always, if you are an iTunes listener, please rate and review us.
  • The Olympic Trials are now over, and it was quite a haul for Oregon alumni. Ten Duck alumni will represent their country in London: Americans Keshia Baker (4x100), Matthew Centrowitz (1500), Aston Eaton (decathalon), Becky Holliday (pole vault), Cyrus Hostetler (javelin), Galen Rupp (5000 and 10000), Andrew Wheating (1500) and Rachel Yurkovich (javelin) will be joined by Canadian Brianne Theisen (heptathalon) and Australian Zoe Buckman (1500). Best of luck to all our Ducks in London.
  • Finally, NFL.com ranked Haloti Ngata the ninth best player in the league. I know it warms Matt's heart that his beloved "rat birds" have such a collection of Ducks on their roster.

Enjoy the Fourth. If you find any more quack, be sure to share.
