Oregon opens up a home stand against the bay area schools tonight when #6 Stanford comes to town and tomorrow when #20 California makes the journey to Eugene.
The Ducks are coming off a 5 set comeback win against UCLA, giving them a sweep of the Bruins and must face a pair of teams who have flummoxed the Ducks for the past couple years. The Ducks lost in straight sets against the Cardinal in Palo Alto earlier in the season and have dropped 7 of the last 8 matches against them.
The Ducks have been middle of the pack all season and a win against the Cardinal would go a long way in helping them back into the post season discussion. Simply put, the Ducks need to string together some wins if their rebuilding season is to land them in the post season once again.
Oregon has been playing with two setters recently and trying to spread the offense around. Ariana Williams is going to need to get it going tonight along with Liz Brenner and Canace Finley for the Ducks to have a chance. If Oregon becomes one dimensional, as they have showed a tendancy to do, they may get run out of the gym.
