Oregon Ducks Women's Basketball Vs. Washington State Cougars Preview

and the Open Thread

Steve Dykes

Oregon looks to bounce back after a tough loss against Washington when Washington State visits Matthew Knight Arena today. The Ducks surrendered conference records to both the Huskies and Kristi Kingma for three pointers made on Thursday but today they go up against the only conference foe they have defeated to this point in the season.

In their last matchup, the Ducks won a close one in the Palouse by a score of 70-68 and needed Ariel Thomas' finest performance of the season scoring 20 points, 8 in the last 2 minutes and dished out 8 assists. Jillian Alleyne also contributed a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Oregon looked to be in control of the game early but gave away their double digit lead in the second half, only to be rescued by the heroics of Ariel Thomas.

For the Cougars, they were led by Tia Presley who scored 16 in a losing effort. Also, the Cougars are coming off a tightly contested game with Oregon State in which they won 51-49 at Gill Coliseum. Since their loss to Oregon, WSU has won 5 of 6, their only blemish in that span coming against #17 UCLA.

The game will be broadcasted on PAC12 Network. So strap in for some Pac-12 Women's basketball!
