Multiple sources confirmed Sunday night that 3* running back Kani Benoit from Phoenix, Arizona has committed to the Oregon Ducks. At 5'11, 210 lbs Benoit fits the profile of a larger back that the Ducks have coveted during the past few recruiting cycles. Oregon has wanted to take three running backs in the 2013 class all along but had pursued other targets before offering Benoit while he was on an official visit over the weekend.

Benoit's commitment likely ends the recruitment of 3* running back Trevorris Johnson, who is committed to TCU but visited Oregon a couple of weeks ago. The Ducks already have 5* running back Thomas Tyner in this year's class, and are trying to hang on to 4* RB/WR Dontre Wilson. Wilson visited Texas over the weekend. Meanwhile, rumors persist that he will switch his commitment to Ohio State. Wilson seems tailor-made play in Oregon's offense, but his commitment has wavered ever since Chip Kelly jumped to the NFL.

Regardless, with the solid commitments of Thomas Tyner and Kani Benoit, the Ducks are in good shape heading in to 2013. Byron Marshall has a year of seasoning, De'Anthony Thomas showed he can run between the tackles this past year, and Tyner and Benoit look ready to contribute as soon as they arrive on campus.

Kani Benoit is Oregon's 18th commitment. He runs strong and is quick for his size and if you ask me is underrated based on what he shows on film. You can check out his highlight video below.
