No Chip Kelly? No problem. Mark Helfrich and the Oregon coaching staff continue to build on their strong class with their 4th signing day announcement, 4-star DE Torrodney Prevot. Prevot recently decommitted from USC after late visits to Oregon and Texas A&M. On signing day, Prevot chose Oregon. Texas A&M was the presumed favorite, but speculation was that their large class and another late DE signing pushed Rodney to Oregon.
Rodney is a bit on the small side, weighing only 200 pounds, and is considered a bit of a project. But he picked up 12 sacks his junior year, and has displayed an ability to get the QB. Under strength coach Jim Radcliffe, Rodney should be able to bulk up and find a spot in Oregon's versatile defense.
With Oregon missing out on a number of LB prospects this year, including Wilsonville's Johnny Ragin III, Rodney helps complete the class. He is the only DE signed by Oregon this year, though after the 2012 class, it wasn't a real position of need.
