Let's talk about this year's Miracle Wolf Fundraiser.
For those that are new or haven't heard of it before, 3 years ago, a simple comment turned into a giant act of kindness. One of our community members has a son that is afflicted with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (or brittle bone disease). That simple comment turned into an auction of gifts donated by many members, items contributed by the athletic department, including some from Chip Kelly himself, and generous monetary contributions from across the community on a whole. In the first year we were able to raise over $1,200. Last year we had an even more generous turnout and raised over $2,400.
This year I'm upping the stakes and want to raise more than $5,000 for research, education and assistance of families fighting this terrible disease.
Here is where you come in. I need donated items to auction.
Last year Benzduck had the amazing idea of donating historical posters from his Program Project. I ordered a couple and let me tell you they are awesome Duck memorabilia. We had T-shirts from contest winners, Duck authors, and even the former President Dave Frohnmeyer kicked in some cool stuff. No item is too small or too big. We will work with you to figure out how to get the auction item to the winner, we will post and track everything on our own Ebay site, all you have to do is be willing to part with something for a great cause.
If you don't have something to donate, don't worry, I'm sure you'll quickly fall in love during the auctions with something someone else does... so feel free to bid. If you don't want to bid, we'll have a widget on the site for you to be able to contribute cash directly. Again, no donation is too small or too big.
We're probably going to spice it up a little this year and throw a couple of contests into the fundraiser. The ATQ team has set a lofty goal for this little community, but I have no doubt that we'll be able to reach it.
So please leave questions or comments below about items you're thinking about donating, or if you'd like, feel free to reach out to me directly via the email in my profile.
I'd like to get all the auction items set up by the end of next week and then run everything through the second week of May. So please feel free to comment or reach out to me with whatever it is you think you can do to help us get to our goal this year.
Thank you in advance to everyone that chips in. You all make me so proud to be a member of this community and a Duck fan with your gracious hearts and giving spirits.
Go Ducks.
