Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo Sports is reporting that junior college transfer Richard Amardi will visit Oregon sometime in the next week.

Amardi is out of Indian Hills Community College in Iowa and had been committed to Iowa State for nine months before losing his scholarship when the Cyclones signed Marshall transfer DeAndre Kane. After losing his scholarship Amardi reportedly heard from over 50 schools but has narrowed his list to Gonzaga, Oregon, Kansas State, and Arizona State.

As everyone knows Oregon is still looking for front court depth and experience after the graduation of four senior front court players in 2013. At 6'9, 220 lbs Amardi is a three star player according to Rivals and the #50 JUCO player in the country according to Brad Winton of JucoRecruiting.com. Jeff Eisenberg had this to say about Amardi's game today:

The strength of Amardi's game is his athleticism, from his ability to run the floor, crash the glass and finish at the rim. He'd be unlikely to provide much back-to-the-basket offense in his lone season at whichever school he chooses, but he's capable of making an impact with his activity and explosiveness around the rim.

With only one year of eligibility remaining, Oregon must think he is ready to play right away as they're going to have to sell him on the idea to get his signature. Given the level of interest Amardi has received from other schools and Altman's ability to integrate one-year transfers, Amardi seems like he would be a great fit for the Ducks.
