Quack Fix: Cole Irvin an All-American, again.

After setting a school record for wins and earning all-conference honorable mention recognition, freshman Cole Irvin was name to his third freshman All-American team.

Not a whole lot out there this morning, but here's what I could find:

  • Cole Irvin was named to the 2013 Baseball America Freshman All-American first team. This marks the third All-American honor for Irvin who went 12-3 with a 2.48 ERA for the Ducks this season.
  • Ted Miller has a couple of Oregon-related blog entries. First, he has a "Hope & Concern" video that focuses on Marcus Mariota and Oregon's losses at linebacker. Second, Miller recaps some of Phil Steele's preview, including Oregon as the highest ranked team as well as national rankings for conference position groups.
  • The Oregonian has a piece on Westview prep runner Alec Smith who passed up scholarship offers from other schools and will join the Oregon team next season without the benefit of a scholarship. Smith won his second straight 800m state title this season and also qualified for the finals of the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships that were held a few weeks ago.

Go Ducks!
