August is rapidly approaching, which means all things football are almost here. On the 31st, you will be sitting in a bar, or your living room or den, or, if you're really lucky, Autzen Stadium, watching the Ducks take the field.
Autzen is the best stadium in the Pac-12, but the relatively small capacity and expense of attending a game there mean that heading to an Oregon home game is only an occasional happening for many fans. So today's poll question is this: if you could attend only one game at Autzen this season, which would it be?
Here are the candidates:
August 31 -- Nicholls State
Okay, so this isn't much of a game, but you do have a chance to see if the Autzen jumbotron really has a third digit. It is the opener, and tickets should be relatively inexpensive.
September 14 -- Tennessee
The SEC rolls into Autzen! Okay, so we're not talking about a great SEC team here, but still.
September 28 -- California
The Pac-12 opener gives you a chance to see Sonny Dykes' "Bear Raid" in person.
October 17 -- Washington State
Mike Leach's offense has to be better than last year's version, right?
October 26 -- UCLA
The Pac-12 South favorites with Brett Hundley behind center? An intriguing choice, indeed.
November 16 -- Utah
This is Utah's first game against Oregon as a member of the Pac-12.
November 29 -- Oregon State
My choice with no Stanford, USC, or Washington on the schedule. OSU should be pretty good this season, and this game has a chance to be the lead-in to something special.
