You know football is close when we start breaking out a Weekend Quack Fix.
Highlights (From Oregon's Official Practice Report):
- The Ducks were in full pads for a competition day, though there was no hitting.
- The passing game was slow to get going, and practice was a bit sloppy overall.
- Josh Huff took a pitch for a would-be day winning touchdown, but was called for a celebration penalty, giving the defense the win.
- Alejandro Maldonado and Dylan Ausherman both looked comfortable punting out of the end zone.
Blurb of the Day:
"The way we practice with so many people getting reps we've got freshmen getting 45 reps in practice," receivers coach Matt Lubick said Thursday. "I've never heard of that. Your freshmen maybe get a couple reps in and learn from the ones and twos but the way we do it they're thrown in the fire. Rep after rep after rep, there are so many opportunities they have to get better.
