Finally! Football (practice) is here!
- We have a practice report! And, it even looks like Moseley will write them beginning later this week. Until then, here's Andy McNamara's report from yesterday.
- Jason Quick has a piece on Marcus Mariota as he prepares for his second season as the starting quarterback with a lot more hype than last summer.
- Steve Mims has an article on the expectations of this year's Oregon team as they start the season as preseason favorites to win the conference and ranked third in the USA Today poll. Some good quotes from both Helfrich and some players.
- Bob Clark has some quotes from Mark Helfrich about his first practice as head coach, who described the practice as "all in all, some flashes of good and we'll build." Asked about freshman who looked good, Helfrich noted lineman Elijah George and receiver Darren Carrington.
- Similarly, Andrew Greif writes about Helfrich's first practice replacing Chip Kelly. Helfrich: "If I can be known as the guy who kept winning after Chip Kelly, I'm good with that."
- The Pac-12 blog named Colt Lyerla #20 in their ranking of the preseason top 25. Lyerla was the second Duck to make the list so far.
- If you're still looking to read more about Oregon's new football complex, Greif writes about players and staff getting settled in their new home.
- Finally, it looks like the Register-Guard has found a replacement for Rob Moseley.
Go Ducks!
