Tennessee Volunteers vs. Oregon Ducks Postgame: Oregon Hands Vols Worst Loss In 108 Years

Oregon rolls up 687 yards of total offense as they trounce Tennessee.

About everything that could go wrong for the Ducks early went wrong. Oregon was sloppy--killing themselves with penalty after penalty. Marcus Mariota was 2-7 passing, Oregon went three-and-out and missed a field goal, and Tennessee let a big play spur a touchdown drive to put them up 7-0.

Then Oregon found their rhythm, scored a touchdown on eight straight drives, and blew the Volunteers away, the 59-14 margin marking Tennessee's worst loss since 1905.

What was interesting was that, in rather un-Oregon like fashion, the Ducks did it through the air, with Marcus Mariota passing for 456 yards. Josh Huff and John Mundt both went over 120 yards receiving, Mundt playing over Colt Lyerla for undisclosed reasons.

The Ducks still had the sloppy beginning, and still have things to work on heading into the bye week. But three blowout wins to start the season, and a week off before conference play. It's a good time to be a Duck.

Jake will have a more formal recap from the press box later, and Jared and Tako may have something special worked up. Enjoy the evening games.
