Oregon Ducks Football: Thursday Practice Report

The final media session before Oregon opens the Pac-12 season

Jonathan Ferrey

Today was "No Sweat Thursday" for the Ducks. Oregon took a lot of mental reps according to coach Mark Helfrich and made sure everything was in place for their showdown with the Bears.

Some have been making noise on Oregon not having practice under the lights, considering the time of kickoff on Saturday. Both Coach Helfrich and Marcus Mariota chime in and minimize the effects of not practicing at night talking about how they often practice under lights when their in the Mo Center and that each one of them played high school football and those games are mostly at night.

Both also speak on how California has appeared to be susceptible to the deep ball and if their defense really is as suspect as they have appeared in the first few weeks. They both seem to think that Cal is better defensively than the numbers show.
