- A bad week for the Ducks in basketball got worse on Sunday as they dropped their third straight conference game to Stanford 82-80. These last three games have exposed the greatest weakness in the Ducks, front court play and team defense. After not allowing a team to shoot greater than 50% all year, the Ducks have allowed it three straight times, and a lot of that is because guys are getting easy looks right at the basket.
- If you want to relive the ending, Pac 12 has highlights (or lowlights, depending on your point of view).
- This team needs it senior leaders to step up right now. Moser, Loyd and Calliste are the seniors that get the most minutes, and they need to start to exert themselves on the court and in the locker room. Things aren't broken yet, but there are some pretty big cracks and we need some senior glue to keep it from getting worse.
- It looks like Mark Helfrich found his man to lead the Ducks defense next season. Veteran Duck linebacker coach, Don Pellum will be named defensive coordinator. When you promote a guy with no experience it leads to a lot of questions, and questions that can typically be answered by whether or not you trust the coach that did the hiring. Fair or not, after last season I think Coach Helfrich lost more believers than he gained which is why this hire is being so scrutinized.
GIF of the week: Hey Urban Meyer, what do you think of Alabama's new offensive coordinator?
That's all the quack I have. Leave any more pieces you find in the comments below.
