In addition to Small, Oregon is also expected to sign 4-star power forward Trevor Manuel later this week. Both players had previously given verbal commitments to the Ducks and are huge parts of the 2015 recruiting class.
Small is 6'0, 170 lbs and plays basketball for Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California. He is the 86th rated player in the country according to the 247 composite and the #14 rated point guard. He is known as a tenacious defender that does the little things well on offense and defense. This past season he averaged 21.1 points, 3.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.4 steals.
Manuel will play his senior year for Everett High School in Lansing, Michigan. He is 6'9, 215 lbs and can play inside or out as a wing or forward, giving Dana Altman the lineup flexibility he loves. Manuel is a much needed front court player and surely won't be the last in this class as Oregon is in desperate need of size following Ben Carter's transfer and Ray Kasongo's failure to qualify academically.
Oregon will look to sign several more players this spring as their roster remains thin following the early exits of players like Dominic Artis, Damyean Dotson, Ben Carter, and Brandon Austin.
