2016 Four Star Football and Basketball Recruit Dillon Mitchell Chooses Oregon

Mitchell is Oregon's third commitment in the 2016 class.

While the Ducks are putting together a very nice 2015 football recruiting class, they are also getting a jump on 2016. Today they received a verbal commitment from four star football and basketball recruit, Dillon Mitchell.

Mitchell is a four star wide receiver from Memphis, Tennessee and was part of Oregon's huge recruiting weekend last Saturday. He is currently ranked as the #342 player overall and #59 wide receiver by the 247Sports composite but has an offer list that belies his ranking. Mitchell chose the Ducks over a final six that included Alabama, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Auburn.

Mitchell is Oregon's third commitment in the 2016 class and joins four star safety Brady Breeze and four star quarterback Seth Green. Speaking to Duck Territory, Mitchell had this to say about his decision to commit to Oregon:

"Before coming my decision was just going to be based off the school, but after seeing it in person and being there I realized everything about it just fits me," said Mitchell. "The coaches, I love them to death and they love me to death. It's the place I feel the most comfortable at."

"They said I remind them of De'Anthony Thomas and that I could work out in the slot, return kicks, and just get the ball in my hands."

In addition to football, Mitchell is also a four star basketball recruit and will likely be given the opportunity to play both sports if he desires. However, his scholarship is for football, which will take priority over basketball should Mitchell choose to play both sports. You can watch his sophomore highlights in football and basketball below.
