Last night was a great night for the redshirt junior as Marcus Mariota won all three awards he was nominated for. It was obvious how uncomfortable Mariota was when he was giving his acceptance speech. The man never accepts an award without mentioning how his teammates got him where he is. Here are some notes about last nights ceremony and other links from around the web.
- The three awards Mariota is coming home with are the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award. Senior cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu joined Mariota on the first-team Walter Camp Football Foundation's all-American team.
- The Oregon men's basketball team will play its first true road game this Saturday. The Ducks will be playing Illinois at the United Center; this will be the third ranked team Oregon has played in their first nine games.
- The No. 16 Oregon volleyball team will continue their postseason run as they play North Carolina at 4 p.m. this afternoon. The Ducks will have their hands full, the Tar Heels haven't lost a game in over three months and bear an impressive 28-2 record. The game can be streamed on ESPN3.
- It turns out that Mariota potentially has a quick-witted sense of humor. During the Broyles Award event, offensive coordinator Scott Frost had a funny story that involved his star player.
