Oregon is back on the recruiting trail and are looking hard at 3* offensive guard Shane Lemieux. Lemieux is out of Yakima, Washington and goes 6'6" 285 lbs.
His offer sheet is respectable early, holding offers from the Ducks as well as California, WSU, Boise State, Miami (FL) and South Carolina.
After reviewing Shane's film, it shows him as much better of a run blocker than a pass blocker. However, with Steve Greatwood at coach there is little doubt that he can improve there.
Lemieux has a lean frame and good speed and could put on a little weight. Watching his highlight film, it's apparent that Lemieux gets good leverage and has a good push up field instead of simply holding defenders up where they stand.
He is also versatile, often times West Valley had him line up in the extra TE position to assist in blocking along the edge as they went off tackle. This bodes well as it shows his ability to perhaps move out to a tackle position and maybe take on more, similar to a guy like Max Unger.
The Ducks seem to be trying to beef up the inside of their offensive line, having already receiving a commitment from 4* guard, Zach Okun. Getting commitments early from players like Okun and Lemieux bode well for one of Oregon's most important recruiting classes in recent memory.
