Oregon struck again on the recruiting trail as they got a tremendous commitment from Alex Ofodile out of Columbia, Missouri. The 4* Wide Receiver picked Oregon today over the likes of Missouri, Florida State, Alabama and Notre Dame just to name a few on his offer list. Getting Ofodile was a big surprise as Oregon was one of his most recent offers and many felt like he wouldn't be coming out west.
Officially an Oregon duck!! It's a blessing words can't describe my excitement to join the program. Thanks to all who supported me

Ofodile is ranked as the top player in the state of Missouri and the #10 receiver this cycle according to 247sports. At 6'3" 185, Ofodile has the frame to be a big time receiver for the Ducks. As a junior, Ofodile amassed over 1200 yards receiving yards. He shows versatility, being able to line up in the slot and make a tough catch over the middle but also show speed to burn out wide.
Although it is early in the cycle, it can't be stressed how big of a get this is for the Ducks as they look to continue their momentum from last week's three o-line recruits and JC WR Zac Schuller. What's more Oregon beat out several SEC teams, including the afformentioned Alabama and Missouri.
In an interview with SBNation, Ofodile notes that he has been in the weight room a lot in the off season, working on increasing his strength and breaking through tackles.
"I'm probably the most complete receiver in the nation, I think. From route running ability to ball skills to just having that feel, all that stuff is second to none," said Ofodile. What's more is he has said in the same interview that he only plans to take an official visit to the school he commits to, not wanting to play the recruiting game. He also plans to enroll early which works for the Oregon quarter system.
The plausible ripple effect that Ofodile's recruitment has can be seen as having a talented wide receiver will get the attention of potential quarter backs for the upcoming cycle, namely Oregon's latest offer of 4* Travis Waller.
