With baseball and softball now eliminated from their respective postseasons, and only track and field championships remaining in the 2013-14 academic year, Duck fans are forced to prepare for the doldrums of summer. School is out, sports are silent, and college blogs like ATQ are left to fend for themselves in a harsh and cruel cyberworld. We must find something to occupy our time. WE MUST!
On October 22nd, 1994, Kenny Wheaton jumped an out route and cut back into history. Twenty years later, we are still cherishing and celebrating that moment as the end of The Suffering, and the beginning of the modern era of exciting and successful Oregon football. In honor of that seminal moment in Duck history, ATQ will be counting down the Top 20 Ducks of the last 20 years.
And we need your help.
The authors and moderators of ATQ will be submitting their own, personal Top 20 lists, but we would be remiss to exclude our beloved readership. So we'd like you to come up with your own list of favorite Oregon players. Here's how it'll work.
-Your vote will be counted in the form of a REC in the comments section. If you don't see a player you'd like to vote for, nominate them by posting a new comment with their name, and perhaps evidence of their importance, if you're feeling ambitious. If a player is already nominated, simply cast your vote for them by reccing that particular comment. I will count multiple comments, but I don't want to because I'm lazy and bad at counting. So try to keep it to one comment per player.
-I will close the comments next Tuesday, June 10th. So you've got a week to vote. Then, I'll compile the community top 20 list along with the moderator's lists.
-Over the course of the summer, ATQ will count down the full list, starting at #20 and ending with #1 right around the start of the season.
Go Ducks, and get voting!
