Quack Fix: Devon Allen Is Ours And You Can't Have Him

Not a lot going on in Duckburg, but Devon Allen is probably winning something.

Andy Lyons

Football starts next month. Football starts next month. Football starts next month. Here's some Quack:

  • Devon Allen can add more hardware to his trophy case after being named USATF's Athlete of the Week. Allen has now won an NCAA National Championship and a USATF Championship in the 110 m hurdles, despite the fact that he's on a football scholarship and doesn't train for track full time.
  • For those of you into recruiting, the elite, invitation-only "The Opening" camp begins this weekend at the Nike campus in Beaverton. Among those in attendance, Taj Griffin is already an Oregon commit, and there are several Oregon targets.
  • You can check out the future of Oregon Track and Field this weekend at the USA Junior National Championships. Future Duck Ashlee Moore has already won the heptathalon title, and will be competing in the 100 m and high jump, and will be joined by fellow future Ducks Ariana Washington (100, 200), Raevyn Rogers (800), Nate Moore (long, triple jump), and Jhett Janis (javelin). The event is free.
That's all on a slow Quack day. Stay safe as you head to your 4th of July destination. GO DUCKS!
