Matt Prehm of DuckTerritory is reporting that WR Chance Allen is transferring to the University of Houston.
Allen, who just completed his sophomore season at Oregon, played in only five games last season, failing to record a catch. He has just five catches in his Oregon career.
Allen is from the Houston area, and the transfer is reportedly to take care of his mother, who has recently undergone surgery. The Daily Emerald interviewed Chance's mother, Alycia:
"He came home for me and my health," Alycia said. "He is all I have and I am all he has."
In regards to Chance deciding to transfer due to lack of playing time, Alycia said it was more about supporting his family than anything.
"He loves Oregon," Alycia said. "Playing time was not a factor at all. We have been there three years and it has not been a factor."
Allen will apply for a waiver to play right away at Houston. If his waiver is granted, he will have two seasons to play for the Cougars.
