The Ducks escaped a thrilling three over-time victory against the Arizona State Sun Devils in Sun Devil Stadium on Thursday night.
Vernon Adams and the Ducks offense seemed to be clicking on all cylinders, as Adams threw for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns against just one interception. Adams also distributed the ball very well as seven different receivers recorded at least one catch. Royce Freeman had another great game, of course, running for over 100 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries for an average of 7.4 yards per carry.
With the game going in to three over-time's, it's obvious the defense didn't have a stellar game. They gave up over 300 yards on the ground and Mike Bercovici threw 5 touchdown passes and was just shy of throwing for 400 yards on the night.
The question for today's Armchair Quarterback is about the play-calling choice on the 2-point conversion following the Ducks final touchdown of the game. Bralon Addison, after catching a touchdown in the back of the end zone, took a direct snap that was blown up and he was unable to cross the goal line. In that situation, with the game on the line, would you still make that call? Or would you put the game on the shoulders of Adams who seemed to be in a groove that night? Or hand it off to Freeman, who was averaging 7.4 yards per carry?
