Quack Fix: Oregon baseball finishes strong.

  • Thanks to a 9-1 stretch to finish the season, and a series win over No. 2 UCLA, Oregon managed to find their way into the NCAA tournament. The Ducks needed extra innings in 3 of their final 4 games, including consecutive walk-off wins over UCLA to end the regular season. The wins over the Bruins may have punched Oregon's ticket to the tournament as the committee rewarded UCLA with the No. 1 overall seed.
  • The Ducks needed a big effort to make the NCAA tournament. and they got one from first baseman Scott Heineman this past week. Heineman had a hitting percentage of .562 as the Ducks took down Oregon State and UCLA in 3 of 4 games played.
  • Oregon will be joined by 5 other Pac 12 teams in the  NCAA tournament with No. 1 seed UCLA, USC, Arizona State Oregon State and California also making the field. The Ducks went 8-9 against these conference opponents that are also representing the Pac 12 in the field of 64.
