The Ducks made a move to fortify their 2016 recruiting class, landing a commitment from three-star running back Vavae Malepeai.

Malepeai, 6-0, 195, is the No. 34 running back in 247Sports' Composite Rankings for the class of 2016. He's Oregon's ninth commitment in the 2016 class and first running back. The Ducks returned to their Hawaiian pipeline to add Malepeai, a state that has been quite kind to Oregon (ever hear of a guy named Marcus Mariota?).
The 2015 recruiting class saw Oregon sign four running backs. With Malepeai now in the fold, it will be interesting to see how the Ducks handle their stash of running backs.
Malepeai received offers from Michigan, Nebraska and Ole Miss as well.
