- Royce Freeman and Thomas Tyner made the preseason watch list for the Doak Walker Award. The Doak Walker Award is given to the nation's best running back. Last year Melvin Gordon from Wisconsin won the award.
- When the men's basketball team makes their trip to Spain they won't have their starting center, Jordan Bell. Bell is still healing from a broken foot and should be healthy by October.
- Oregon looks to be in great shape when it comes to the linebacker position this season. The Ducks will have four, fifth-year seniors in the rotation and their experience will be their strength.
