Preseason Coaches Poll: Oregon ranked No. 5

Ducks make it in the top 5 in the first official preseason poll.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Our first official preseason poll has been released for the 2015 season, and it is the coaches poll. As normal, it is loaded with ESS EEE CEE teams with a total of 8. To no one's surprise, the defending national champions Ohio State Buckeyes are at the top of the list, followed by TCU, Alabama, Baylor, and Oregon rounding out the top five.

For the most part, the list seems pretty predictable from what you would expect. However, I was a little surprised to see Florida State still in the top 10 when they were shaky, at best, last season. That's before the fact that they lose Winston and other of their top players to the draft, arrests, or kicked off the team. I'm not saying that they won't be a good team this year, they should still be one of the teams that are favored to win a weak ACC conference right along with Clemson and Georgia Tech, but I just don't see them as a top 10 team.

With a loaded amount of SEC teams on here, there are some teams on there from the south that I'm not quite convinced are top-25 teams, but these are the coaches voting and not me, so whatever. Go ahead and rip apart how wrong this poll is in the comments (specifically the SEC, please).

You can look at the poll here.
