Quack Fix: Lockie shows leadership

Your daily dose of Oregon Ducks news.

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

  • Even with Vernon Adams joining the team, no QB knows the offense quite like Jeff Lockie, and after a practice which saw some struggles in the red zone, he held a post-practice pep talk with the team.
  • In a bit of a blow to Oregon's 2016 recruiting class, Theo Howard decomitted from the program on Sunday. Howard was the Ducks' top ranked commit for 2016.
  • Tyler Dorsey is a 5-star recruit out of high school and so far as a freshman for the Ducks, he is as impressive as advertised. He is expected to give the Ducks a much needed offensive presence this upcoming season.
  • Chip Kelly has quite a number of former Duck players on the roster, but now has one on his coaching staff as Keanon Lowe joined Kelly's staff in what currently is an undefined role.
  • Jeff Lockie has the edge on experience and knowledge of the offense, but Vernon Adams adds another dynamic with his style of play and is impressing the players and coaches.
