AP Top 25/Coaches Poll: Ducks fall out of the top 10

The Ducks dropped out of the top 10 after a close loss to Michigan State on Saturday night.

After a 31-28 loss to Michigan State, the Ducks fell out of the top 10 in both the AP Poll and Coaches Poll. Oregon defeated the Spartans 46-27 at home in Eugene last September, but this time it was a much closer contest all around. The Ducks are 12th in the newest AP Poll and 13th in the Coaches Poll. Last year, the Ducks dropped out of the top 10 briefly when they lost to Arizona on a Thursday night, but won the rest of their games to win the Pac 12 and make the College Football Playoff.

Oregon faces Georgia State next Saturday in their last non-conference game before Pac 12 play begins on September 26th against No. 21 Utah. The Ducks can get back into the playoff race, but they have no margin for error now. A 2 loss Pac 12 champion would have little to no chance at making the playoff, unless there is complete chaos in every other conference.
