AP Top 25/Coaches Poll: Ducks remain 7th in AP Poll

New, 17 comments

The Ducks take on Michigan State this weekend and look to make an early move in the polls.

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

After defeating Eastern Washington this past weekend, 61-42 ,the Ducks remained 7th in the AP poll and 5th in the Coaches Poll. Unlike last year, the Ducks will be the lower ranked team in the AP poll headed into their clash with Michigan State, as the Spartans are 5th in the AP Poll. Going into the game last year, the Ducks were ranked 3rd while Michigan State was in the 7th spot. If the Ducks can come out of East Lansing with a win, look for a pretty decent sized move in the polls next week as a road win against a top 10 opponent should impress the voters.

Ohio State remains No. 1 in both polls while the SEC sets a new record in the AP Poll with 10 ranked teams, including the entire SEC West division. In the Pac 12, the conference still has a respectable 5 teams ranked which is behind only the SEC. Utah replaces Arizona State in the rankings after the Utes defeated Michigan last Thursday and the Sun Devils fell to Texas A&M on Saturday. As of now,the Ducks have 3 ranked teams on their schedule, but this is subject to change each week.
