Yesterday I posted the odds of Oregon Ducks running back Royce Freeman winning the Heisman. Today, we take a look at really, really early national championship odds.
The Ducks are 33 to 1 to win it all in 2016, per Bovada. While those may seem like pretty long odds, only 13 teams fare better.
Alabama has the best chance, at 6/1, followed by Clemson (7/1), Michigan (9/1), and Oklahoma and Ohio State tied at 10/1. Tennessee comes in at 12/1, Baylor and LSU tie at 14/1, and Notre Dame sits at 16/1. FSU and Stanford each get the nation's tenth-best odds, at 18/1. Ole Miss comes it at 20/1 and Michigan State is 25/1.
Oregon is tied for the 14th spot with several teams, including Georgia, TCU, USC, UCLA and Auburn. The lowest-ranked teams on the board are Missouri, Northwestern and NC State, all at 300 to 1. Oregon State is nowhere to be found.
