NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-West Regional-Duke vs Oregon Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

It’s official, guys. We’re no longer a football school. We’re a basketball school now.

On Thursday morning, the USA Today preseason coaches poll was released, and Oregon comes in at No. 5 in the nation. This is Oregon’s highest preseason ranking ever in the coaches poll.

Duke (who Oregon beat in the Sweet 16 last year, just in case our East Coast media friends forgot) is ranked No. 1 in the nation to start the year. Kansas comes in at No. 2, defending national champions Villanova are at No. 3 and Kentucky checks in at No. 4

Other Pac-12 teams in the preseason top 25 include Arizona at No. 11 and UCLA at No. 20. California, USC, Colorado, Washington and Utah also received votes.
