NCAA Basketball: Pac-12 Media Day Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The preseason hype train keeps on rolling. A day after being ranked No. 5 overall in the USA Today preseason coaches poll, the Oregon Ducks were picked as the favorites to win the Pac-12 for the first time in the history of the preseason media poll.

The Ducks received 23 out of a possible 27 first place votes from various media members who cover Pac-12 basketball. Arizona picked up the other four votes.

Here is the Pac-12 preseason media poll from top to bottom:

School - Points

  1. Oregon - 320
  2. Arizona 298
  3. UCLA - 259
  4. California - 209
  5. Colorado - 199
  6. Washington - 167
  7. USC - 163
  8. Utah - 142
  9. Oregon State - 122
  10. Stanford - 119
  11. Arizona State - 78
  12. Washington State - 30

The prediction is a good sign for the Ducks, as media members have correctly predicted the Pac-12 champion 16 times since the first poll in 1989.

Oregon’s season kicks off in Eugene on November 11 against Army at Matthew Knight Arena.
