The hype has been building for months around this year’s Oregon basketball team. Some experts have even picked the Ducks to win it all. And it looks like the fans finally know they have a talented team on the floor.

According to Senior Associate Athletic Director Craig Pintens, it is expected that there will be over 10,000 fans in attendance for Oregon’s season opener tonight against the Army Black Knights, which would make it the most attended season opener in school history.

In recent years, the Ducks have drawn around 5,500-6,000 fans for season openers at Matthew Knight Arena, usually against rather underwhelming opponents.

Tonight, the Ducks will wear special Veterans Day uniforms while getting to play against men who will go into the US Army when their time at West Point is over. It should be a really special atmosphere, and I can't wait to see fans give the ovation that Army deserves tonight.
