Marcus Mariota named AFC Offensive Player of the Month

Yep, definitely nothing more than a system quarterback.

Marcus Mariota has been one of the most successful quarterbacks in the NFL this season, and he’s being recognized for it.

Today, Mariota was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for November. During the month, Mariota completed 86-of-130 passes for 1,124 yards with 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions, plus a passing rating of 115.0, which was the fourth best passer rating in a calendar month in team history.

Mariota is the first player from the Titans to win the award since Chris Johnson did so in November 2009. He’s also just the third quarterback in franchise history to be named the player of the month across the conference, joining Warren Moon (1990) and Steve McNair (2002, 2003).

The Titans went 2-2 during the month of November, but one of those wins came in decisive fashion over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

This season, Mariota has thrown for 2,998 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His 25 touchdown passes are the most in the AFC and the fourth most in the NFL.
