The Ducks are coming off a statement win over Colorado, cruising to a 76-56 win over the Buffaloes at Matthew Knight Arena on Thursday. That win meant the Ducks improved to 8-2 in Pac-12 play this year, their best start in conference play since 2001-02. Oregon also improved to 19-4, which is their best record since the 2007-08 season. You might recall that both of those teams would eventually advance to the Elite Eight.

Against Colorado, Elgin Cook became Oregon's all-time blocks leader. With three blocks against the Buffaloes, Cook now has 117 blocks in his career, surpassing the previous mark of 116 blocks set by Blair Rasmussen between 1981-1985. Cook also surpassed the 1,000 point mark for his career during that win, becoming the 34th player in school history to do so.

The last time out against Utah, the Ducks cruised to a 77-59 win over the Utes. Dillon Brooks led the way in that win for the Ducks, scoring 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds. Casey Benson also had a nice game, scoring 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, plus three rebounds.

Utah is coming off a tough 71-69 loss to Oregon State. That loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Utes, which had tied for their longest Pac-12 winning streak since joining the conference in the 2011-12 season. It also snapped a three-game road winning streak for Utah.

Jakob Poeltl will be a key player for the Ducks to focus on today. Poeltl leads the Utes in scoring, averaging 17.4 points per game and also in rebounding, averaging 8.9 boards per game. The sophomore forward was named as one of 10 finalists for the Kareem Abdul-Jabar Center of the Year Award on Friday. Poeltl has been on fire as of late, recording four straight games with 20 points or more.

As of Saturday, the Utes were one of seven Pac-12 teams among the ESPN Top 50 RPI rankings. Utah checks in at No. 17 on that list with an RPI of .6237, right behind USC who sits at No. 16 with an RPI of .6249.
