A small coterie of Ducks distance runners traveled to California for the two-day meet that wrapped up today. Jeramy Elkaim led the way, winning his heat of the 5,000 in a time of 13:47.40. Elkaim was able to fight off and ultimately overtake John Dressel in the final lap.
Alli Cash was the top Oregon finisher in the 5,000 with a time of 16:00.90, good for 14th. Meanwhile, Molly Grabill took 16th in the 10,000 running 33:13.64. Both Grabill and Cash ran personal bests. Teammate Maggie Schmaedick turned in a time of 34:06.47.

The men got back to work in the 10,000, with senior Matthew Melancon taking seventh with a personal best of 29:05.34. Bryan Fernandez finished in 29:37.33
The Ducks return to the friendly confines of Hayward Field for the Pepsi Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
