In case you haven't heard, the Oregon Ducks have a pretty decent softball squad. Tonight, the No. 3 Ducks defeated the Utah Utes 5-1 at Jane Sanders Stadium in Eugene, clinching their fourth consecutive Pac-12 softball title.
In the sixth inning, with Oregon already leading 3-1, Alyssa Gillespie blasted an opposite field two-run home run to provide the Ducks with all the insurance they would need to cap off the win.
Geri Ann Glasco also had a big night at the plate, going 3-3 with a double and two runs batted in.
Cheridan Hawkins was her usual dominant self, going the distance while giving up one run on five hits, striking out four and walking just one batter. Hawkins earned her 20th win on the season tonight.
The Ducks wrap up their regular season with two more games against Utah on Friday and Saturday.
