Open Thread: NCAA Men's Golf Championship - Oregon vs. Texas

The Oregon men's golf team is on the hunt for its first ever national championship today as they take on the Texas Longhorns at the NCAA championship match, right here at the Eugene Country Club.

Before the match even started, the Ducks jumped out to a 1-0 lead (match play, best of five), as Beau Hossler, the No. 4 amateur in the world and the No. 1 golfer for the Longhorns, withdrew after injuring his should in the semifinals. That also meant that Oregon's Zach Foushee would see his collegiate career come to a close, with no one to play against. Bittersweet for Foushee, but I'm sure he'd take the automatic win in a championship match any day for his team.
