What do you do after winning a national championship? For two Oregon Ducks golfers the answer is simple: Try to make the field in a major tournament.
Aaron Wise and Sulman Raza will be among 55 players competing for just three spots Monday at the Royal Oaks Country Club in Vancouver, Washington. The 36-hole competition is a sectional qualifier for this year's U.S. Open.
Wise won an individual national championship and Raza sank the winning birdie put to give Oregon the team title. There are 13 other amateurs and 40 professionals joining in this round of the competition. Wise, who will turn pro this summer, tees off at 8:25 a.m. Raza tees off 22 minutes later at 8:47.
The 2016 U.S. Open will be held June 16-19 at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
