Ever since being called up to the Oakland Athletics, Ryon Healy has shined. While he went hitless during his debut, he showed off his glove and made some great defensive plays. When he did get his first hit, he made sure it counted, hitting a home run over the left field fence.
On Saturday night, Healy made the biggest splash yet, launching a walk-off home run to lift the A’s to a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Oakland. The home run came off of Alex Colome, who hadn't blown a save all season until this point. It was also Oakland’s third walk off win in their last five games.
Facing a full count in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, Healy launched a pitch to deep left-center field, propelling the A’s to the win. You can watch the home run here.
Of course, your first walk-off home run experience isn't complete without a pie to the face and a Gatorade bath all at once, which is exactly what Healy got.
