Just a couple months ago, Aaron Wise was helping the Oregon Ducks win their first national championship in program history, winning an NCAA individual title in the process. Today, he notched his first professional victory north of the border.

Wise won the Syncrude Oil Country Championship in Edmonton, Canada for his first win on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Canada tour. Wise closed out the tournament by shooting a 2-under 70 on Sunday after shooting 67, 66 and 66 in the first three rounds, finishing 19-under 269 collectively.

Wise turned pro after finishing up his sophomore season with the Ducks and recently made his pro debut at the U.S. Open.

For this tournament, Wise earned $31,500 for winning. If he finishes in the top five on the money list this year, Wise will earn full playing status on the Web.com Tour in 2017, which is a developmental tour for the PGA Tour.
