- Royce Freeman having the starting running back position solidified has never been questioned. So much so that talented backup Taj Griffin has been taking reps at slot receiver throughout the spring and summer. In addition to not seeing as much time as he would like at running back, there is less depth at the slot after losing Bralon Addison and Kirk Merritt.
- Oregon's secondary has been hitting the books and... bowling? In looking to improve on last year's porous pass defense. The Ducks have been bonding and studying hard in preparation for the season opener against UC Davis.
- In recruiting news 4-star CB Elijah Molden (whose list is at four--Oregon, USC, Stanford, Washington) has announced his official visits. Molden, the 21st-ranked cornerback by 247sports, will visit Eugene October 8. Oregon State commit David Morris (linebacker/safety), after saying he would visit the Ducks and then make a decision, has now stuck firm with the Beavers.
