Welcome to Week 2 of Oregon Ducks football! Last weekend, the Ducks opened their season with a 53-28 win over the UC Davis Aggies. Tonight, Oregon faces their first FBS opponent of the year when the Virginia Cavaliers come to town.
The two schools are wrapping up their home-and-home series, started back in 2013 when the Ducks traveled to Virginia and came away with a 59-10 win.
Virginia is hoping to rebound after losing 37-20 to Richmond in their opening game at home. So what’s the best cure for coming off a loss to an FCS school? Fly 3,000 miles across the country and face a team that will probably beat you by 50! That ought to boost the morale.
Recently, Virginia head coach Bronco Mendenhall discussed his feelings about Virginia scheduling this game. Spoiler alert: It’s not good!
We’ll have a second half thread as well, so keep an eye out for that around halftime.
