As to be expected, it was a wild first half between the Oregon Ducks and Nebraska Cornhuskers. At one point in the second quarter, it looked as if Oregon might blow the game wide open when they recovered a fumble and then Taj Griffin ran for a 50-yard touchdown, making it 20-7.
However, the Cornhuskers struck right back, scoring a late touchdown to make it 20-14 at the end of the first half.
Of course, the big story of the first half was the injury to Royce Freeman. In the first quarter, Freeman collided with a tackler and took a hard hit to his right shin. Freeman hobbled off the field, had ice taped around it, and didn't return for the rest of the half. I wouldn’t expect to see him back for the rest of the day.

Buckle up folks. It’s going to be a wild second half.
