Rusty Ryan is joined by the special guest who joined us at the beginning of the season. He fills in for Sean who was unavailable this week to record. I got a replacement because I got to give the people what they want.

We open talking about the loss to Colorado. There were some areas of concern but also a lot of positives to pull from the game, believe it or not. At one point we talk about the most improved unit from Nebraska to Colorado and the best improved unit so far this season.

There has been justified criticism of Helfrich and some coaching decisions as well as the team dynamic. While both of us know that we don’t know the answers and won’t we do some slight speculation on what each of the situations means for the team. We talk about recruiting at Oregon and how scouting players and developing players are connected.

One of the least fun parts of the podcast is us talking about Helfrich’s job security. Neither of us believe there should be any serious reasons for concern so we mostly talk about the dynamics unique to the Oregon coaching position and how it relates to other programs/schools.

At the end we preview the game against Washington State and why this year will be different from last year, for better and possibly for worst. Oregon will be better on both sides of the ball but the same could hold true for Washington State. That’s all before considering how crazy the land of fireball can get on Saturday nights.
