Despite a slow start that had many fans worried, the Oregon Ducks are leading UC Davis at the half 25-7.
UC Davis struck first with a touchdown after Charles Nelson muffed the first punt of the day, but the Oregon defense was able to shut out the UC Davis offense for the rest of the first half while Oregon’s offense got warmed up.
Royce Freeman would score Oregon’s first touchdown with 25 seconds left in the first quarter as he danced and weaved his way into the end zone.
Dakota Prukop threw two touchdown passes in the first half. His first touchdown went to Johnny Mundt (who also happens to be his roommate) with 8:45 left in the half. Then, with 37 seconds left in the second quarter, Prukop found Jalen Brown in the end zone for a 14-yard touchdown, giving Oregon their 25-7 halftime lead.
Oregon seems to have finally found their rhythm, but there are plenty of things to clean up, as is usually the case during the first game of the year as the rust gets shaken off.
