It was a wild first weekend of college football, but the Oregon Ducks didn’t see too much movement when this week’s polls were released.
In the AP Top 25, the Ducks saw no change, holding steady at No. 24 after taking care of UC Davis in the opening week. The Ducks earned 242 points in the poll, behind No. 23 Baylor who had 296 points and also saw no change in their ranking from the previous week. The Miami Hurricanes grabbed the last spot in the poll at No. 25 with 137 points after cruising to a 70-3 win over Florida A&M.
In the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll, the Ducks dropped one spot from No. 22 to No. 23. Some thought their win over UC Davis was rather underwhelming, with Oregon trailing much of the first quarter as the Aggies scored the first touchdown of the day. In between the Ducks in the Coaches Poll is LSU at No. 22 with 218 points and Texas A&M at No. 24 with 302 points. LSU suffered a major upset at the hands of Wisconsin, falling 16 spots in the poll, while Texas A&M upset UCLA in College Station, knocking the Bruins out of the rankings.
