Slingin’ Quack: What A Weekend

Rusty Ryan and Ifo Bomaye recap a wild weekend, the Stanford game, and preview the UCLA matchup.

Ifo Bomaye and I are back after quite the weekend in college football. A lot of top-25 teams went down and there were fewer undefeated teams than there were the week prior.

The PAC-12 results only lead to more questions now that we are over halfway into the season. How does Cal go from giving up 40 points to an Oregon team that was with a backup quarterback for three quarters of the game to shutting down an offense that had made good defenses look below average?

USC beat Utah but then washington drops their game against Arizona State. How did the Sun Devils hold washington to only 7 points while Oregon scored over 30 at full strength?

Basically, it’s really anyone’s conference. There are a few things that went wrong during the game against Stanford that have been present in the program for years. We talk about how recruiting and talent is most apparent in top teams.

UCLA is probably the best chance for Oregon to steal a win while Herbert is out indefinitely. The Bruins have struggled in a few areas that could make for a good matchup.

We also have the first installment of hot takedown. I got through two of the hotter takes I saw circulating and Ifo Bomaye gives a yes or no to their validity.

Lastly, we preview the weekend of games, featuring a few big top-25 matchups.

The ring walk is worth watching but the moment we talk about is at the 1:20 mark.
